In 1987, I had the pleasure while in the US Air Force to visit Germany and embark on a tour of the Rhine River Wine Country. Incidentally, this included Castles along the way, a passage through the Loreli Strait, and…..a visit to a live Vineyard and Rathskeller at Rudesheim-am-Mein!! Here, I learned the bulk of my skills of wine-tasting. And while I don’t remember All of what I learned-Bouquet and such-I also never realized I would discover a similar experience again! Until now. Now you COULD fly to Germany to visit Wine Country along the Rhine. But the most wonderful wines are much closer, in Napa Valley, CA. Unlike the Wines you may find locally containing sulfites and other additives or preservatives, rendering them more a “Wine Drink.” The same as those little kiddie-drink bottles of fruit flavored drinks versus their natural derivatives: Orange, Grape, Strawberry, etc. No, these are straight-from-the-craftsmen’s hands, the balance of weather conditions and painstaking attention to detail. THIS is what constitutes a FINE Wine. This is the wine you want most to indulge in, gift, and, as I said earlier lead you to….
