Is College Worth It? My gut feeling is there are those who believe College is the ONLY way!! However, as Time marches on, and with Change so inevitable, there is a bit of concern with the College path. You see, College is more and more proving to be a WASTE of TIME, MONEY and ENERGY. Not to mention the Debt it creates and the negative impact on lives afterwards. Additionally, in some situations, multiple generations may be saddled with that debt.
As a matter of fact, the “wealthy” are created in greater numbers from business owners and tradespeople than via College Graduates. Realistically, How much “room at The Top” IS there for every College Grad? Have you EVER entertained the question through the hyperbole(it’s Okay if so!): IS COLLEGE Worth It?
Moreover, ever consider the difficulty of a young person’s difficulty to get a business start-up loan for as little as $10K? However, if they need $100K for education, the lenders anxious to arrange that endless debt will flock to them!
School Tuitions are Going Up, and so are Grades as well. And yet Success Rates in the Real World are DECLINING like the fortunes invested in Lucent Technology.

45 percent of students “did not demonstrate any significant improvement in learning” over the first two years of college. Furthermore, close to 40 percent didn’t learn anything at all over all four years. Based upon evaluated testing.
Many Students Never Really Studied, with 35 percent reporting less than 5 hours a week in study time.
In fact, 2.67 hours a day is all that is reported. Twice that amount of time in turn is spent shopping, eating, and/or partying. Priorities are therefore out of order. Troubling, yet this is the report.
A Consistent increase in Adult illiteracy has also been noted. Most College Grads fall below average in Cognitive Tasks (i.e. Budgeting for staples, such as Groceries and Utility bills, balancing a checking account, etc.).
College student in the U.S. are testing at or below High School students by comparison to those in several other Countries. Simply put, High School kids are out-testing our College Grads. Suddenly, we don’t find that game show about a middle-schoolers homework so amusing anymore.
Top Universities are declining in their Academic Rigor. College Classes get flimsier. Yet College GPA averages are over 3.0. Grades improve, but not the Outcomes. Grade Inflation is reportedly highest at Private Schools. Hence, while more Students fail annually, nobody seemingly fails.
And to think of $Billions of Your/Our Tax dollars being sent to support these Institutions??? WHAT!!! A hard statement to make, because If we did this in our Private Businesses there would be Fraud Investigations. Subsequently, indictments would follow.
So what is the answer?
