Dr. Cassandra Mmabatho Hawkins
Cassandra Mmabatho Hawkins, a retired educator and entrepreneur with over 29 years of experience in education, firmly believes in Frederick Douglass’s quote, “It is easier to build strong children than repair broken adults.” Dr. Hawkins, recognized as a VIP member by P.O.W.E.R in 2020, has a background in Language Arts and 11 years of mission’s work. Her degrees in Speech, Theatre, and Communications enable her to empower children to express themselves and stimulate their creativity for problem-solving.
As a Doctor of Ministry, she finds joy in teaching Bible stories to impart character development as well as spiritual growth in children. One of her passions lies in directing stage plays and musicals that educate children, teens, and young adults on making the best choices in life.

I’m Mr. Cantu, and I’m here to unveil the world of music. Music theory helps you discover how music is all around us in daily life if you know where to find and recognize it. It’s just the starting point for exploring the vast world of music. I’m here to share this passion as well as guide others in appreciating the beauty of music.
Firstly, My goal here at Brainfood Academy is to educate students and create engaging lessons in music. Primarily, the focus will be to instruct in learning how to read musical chords. I also will have a separate class for instruction in playing the guitar. By using my experience and knowledge in music, the student will be able to become skillfully proficient in the art of music.
Lastly, I am the creator and founder of Mariachi bands as a grade and credit in the State of Texas along with my colleagues. I hope to show the love of music to my students of all ages.

I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in science. I have primarily worked as a specialized teacher in the areas of reading and math at the elementary level.
I have a deep passion for helping students develop a love for reading and math. In my role, I will teach first graders reading and math skills. In reading, I will cover Phonological Awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Fluency, Handwriting, Grammar, and Punctuation. In math, we will explore Counting and Cardinality, Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Number and Operations in Base Ten, Measurement and Data, and Geometry.
Additionally, in the fourth grade, I will be teaching math, where we will delve into topics such as Numbers/Operations in Base Ten, Operations & Algebraic Thinking, Numbers/Operations – Fractions and Decimals, Measurement and Data, Geometry, and Mathematical Reasoning and Problem Solving. Truly, I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to teach your students in the future!

According to Mr Janecek, we need to learn our past. Why? In order to understand our present. As a result, we can plan our future. Contrary to popular belief, history is not a subject open for debate; it simply is what it is. Specifically, It’s a record of past events that have occurred, and we cannot alter or dispute those facts. Nevertheless, we can engage in meaningful discussions about history, learn valuable lessons from it. Thereby, we educate ourselves about both the mistakes and achievements of our past.
Not to mention that It will also help us understand why things are happening today. Mr Janecek will engage our students in open conversation and learning on the past and present history. From the Renaissance to current events. Using facts instead of opinions, he will lead our students in their growing development of their own voice. As a result of learning to discern fact from opinion, they can better make decisions for themselves. Learning how to think for themselves as well as reason from given facts , will develop our students into better people. Moreover, they will become a vital influence in our ever changing world.

My hands are part of Voice!!! I love teaching and exploring the world of learning. Although I have a special need to help me with my breathing, I hope to show my students that they are special too. Through sign language and interactive teaching, I hope to show my students that there is their ability to learn in all things. In my class, my students will learn the joy and art of language. Hello, everyone! I’m Ms. Wendy, and together with Felix, I’m excited to embark on a learning adventure with you this year at Brainfood Academy this year. My journey in education includes special education teacher training at the University of Hawaii from 2018 to 2020. I’ve been working with elementary grade students since 2017. Also, I have gained three years of tutoring experience in basic math and language arts. Additionally, I’ve taught Conversational Cantonese to elementary grade children for three years. Lastly, I have three years of teaching experience using the online Zoom platform.
I look forward to getting to know you better as we explore and learn together.
